This lecture provides a thorough introduction to the core principles of orbital mechanics, a key area of study for understanding the motion of satellites and other space objects. Attendees will explore various foundational topics, beginning with an introduction to time systems, which are essential for accurately predicting and tracking the positions of orbiting bodies. The lecture will then focus on the two-body problem. Additionally, the course will delve into three-dimensional trajectory analysis, providing insight into the complexities of real-world orbital paths in space. A significant portion of the course will also cover orbit change techniques essential for satellite navigation and mission success. By the end, attendees will develop a solid understanding of how to model and influence orbital motion, preparing them for planning a space mission.
